On the way back to Los Angeles from The Grand Canyon I decided to visit The Joshua Tree National Park for a day. While eating dinner at the bar of the Bistro Twenty Nine in Twentynine Palms the night before I got chatting to Doug Todd, a local photographer. He offered to show me round the Park the next day which I immediately accepted. We entered the Park just after dawn when the temperature was below freezing and it only rose a few degrees the whole day.
